The new Safe Food for Canadians Act and Regulations <\/em>come into force today, January 15, 2019. Section 75 of the regulations states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any person who is involved in the manufacturing, preparing, storing, packaging or labelling of a food or in the slaughtering of a food animal must have the competencies and qualifications that are necessary to carry out their duties.<\/em>
